Geneva XI Stars vs Geneva CC, Premier League, les Evaux, 13 May 2018
Geneva Cricket Club 317 for 8 in 40 overs (Leo 69, Khurram 66, Massoud 56*, Aamir Ali 3-46) beat Geneva XI Stars Cricket Club 143 all out in 27 overs (Raja 35, Zahid 3-19) by 174 runs
Geneva CC won compellingly against hosts XI Stars on a cloudy and wet day. A great opening partnership of 59 runs between Ankit and Idrees gave a good enough base to the visitors to build on, but wickets followed, leaving Geneva stranded at 124 for 5 in 19 overs. Khurram and Leo then changed the game by scoring crucial fifties each. Massoud joined the party after Khurram was dismissed and also raised his bat for his brisk half-century. Geneva CC completed the innings with a great total of 317 runs.

Aside from a short-lived cameo from Raja and some good batting display by Waleed and Kuldeep the second innings was more about an efficient bowling performance from Ankit, Zahid and Ali. After Ankit and Ali wiped the top order with two wickets each, Zahid turned the game upside down with a triple wicket maiden right after the drinks break (21st over). XI Stars went from 114 for 4 to 116 for 8 when Leo bowled a beautiful leg break to Aman. The match was won 6 overs later.
Overall, a great display of cricket by Geneva CC. To be hopefully repeated the next weeks!
